Job Description:

The position will coordinate a wide array of material management duties necessary to expedite supply transactions and satisfy NASA customer requirements Assists in resolving customer inquiries and maintaining accountability of stocked and purchased materials in support of customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and expedites flow of material between central receiving, commodity managers, buyers, transportation personnel, and customers.

Identifies and locates received and overdue material required to meet customer needs and coordinates the processing and delivery of that material as required.

Perform technical research on material, supplies and services and catalogs stock numbers in NASA s ERP system (Oracle and/or SAP).

Provides order status information to customers and coordinates the resolution of order discrepancies.

Maintains accurate inventory records of stocked materials and processes all necessary research and transactions to adjust inventory balances as required.

Ensures that customers submitting order requests are authorized to obligate funds from the funding sources provided.

Manage transactions in NASA s ERP system(s) to ensure that inventory and order management functions are maintained and accurately reflect the flow of material in and out of the warehouse.

Processes proficiency in ERP transactions in accordance with the training scripts provided and as required in the performance of the job.

Performs follow-up action with customers to ensure their requirements have been satisfied.

Evaluates item usage data to suggest min/max stocking levels and ensures that replenishment activities occur as necessary.

Reviews stocked materials for items have an expired shelf-life or that are otherwise not being requested and coordinates the disposal of those materials in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Serves as the main focal point of contact for customer relations, and acts as liaison between the customer and other company personnel as required.

Works with buyer(s) to expedite requisitions and purchase order deliveries.

Works within the general framework of established work instructions, procedures, and policies.

Assists Branch Manager, Procurement Manager, Team Lead(s), and co-workers as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, have the ability to multi-task and work independently, and be able to work in a teamwork environment. Ability to use office machinery, including facsimile machines and personal computers. Must be familiar and comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel applications and must be able to type 25 words per minute.

Must have a minimum of three years experience working in the Project or Inventory Management and Supply Operation arena, preferably with or in support of government projects or programs.

High School diploma or equivalent required. College credits may be substituted for experience at the employer s discretion.
